Herbert Höckel, Managing Director of AMR + moweb, has been elected to the ESOMAR Council, the governing body of the world’s largest market research association. Based in Amsterdam, ESOMAR represents over 12,000 members from 130 countries. Over the next three years, Herbert will collaborate with newly elected president Anne-Sophie Damelincourt and fellow council members to advance the association’s mission and foster innovation across the industry.

From AMR research director to ESOMAR council member
Herbert Höckel began his career at AMR, serving as Research Director from 1994 to 2003. In 2004, he founded mo’web research, a pioneering institute for digital market research. Herbert has become a respected coach and speaker at market research conferences and wrote a book about the Customer Centricity Mindset. Since March 2022, he has returned to AMR as Managing Director, responsible for overseeing the company’s operations and strategic growth.
In February 2025 Herbert was elected as a member of the ESOMAR council.

The ESOMAR Council defines the organisation’s vision, objectives, and strategy, oversees funding, and ensures alignment with the association’s statutes. This newly elected council will begin its term in April 2025, serving until 2028.
